About the Class
Learning Emily Taylor's Parchment Pressing method for creating a custom collage quilt! This class is perfect for all aspiring collage quilt artists and will focus on understanding color theory and a creative use of fabric and composition.
Emily is a self-taught artist, collage quilt educator and author. Her unique
collage quilt patterns make it fun to play with fabric, and her methods ensure a successful outcome! Emily is passionate about teaching and applying principles of art to quilts, as well as being innovative with fabric and
thread. She teaches around the country at guilds and events, and sells
her patterns and books worldwide through her website, CollageQuilter.com.
When not in her studio overlooking the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, Emily is an avid outdoor thrill seeker and loves to ski, mountain bike and hike
with her husband and three children near their home in Sandy, Utah.

Collage Quilting– Cactus / Clementine
Prepare 8-10 pieces (approximately 4” to 6" square) of green fabric with Lite Steam a Seam 2. Include a WIDE variety from light to dark fabrics, so that we are ready to jump right into the projects.
Class Supply List
- Good assortment of fabric (scraps or small precuts are sufficient). Bring light, medium and dark fabrics of green, blue, orange, and any other colors desired.
- Lite Steam a Seam 2
- 6” Fabric Scissors
- Roll of Parchment Paper
- Small work board: 1/4" Foam core covered in felt or flannel-- found easily at craft stores. (Size of work board should be at least 12" square, and up to 36")
- Small iron / wool pressing mat
You will be able to purchase additional patterns, Fabric Bundles, 6” Fabric Scissors and Lite Steam a Seam 2 in class.
