About the Class

The Arise quilt is a fun quilt that uses the square in a square block plus clever sashing and fabric placement to create an exciting overall design. It’s the perfect opportunity for fussy-cutting your favorite fabrics (lots of 6” blocks to fussy cut) and a great way to play with color and fabric placement for maximum impact. You will also learn more about using color to create vibrant secondary patterns in your quilts. Jennifer loves sewing from her stash to create one-of-a-kind quilts and encourages you to do the same, gathering your favorites and mixing them up in exciting ways. In this class she will guide you in creating the center section of the quilt, which establishes the composition of the whole quilt. We’re going to have a fabulous time!

Arise Quilt

Jennifer Harrison

Sixteen years ago Jennifer walked into a quilt shop expecting to make one quilt and check it off her bucket list. Instead, she discovered a medium for exploring color, texture, design, and storytelling which quickly eclipsed all other creative interests. She is an avid quilter, blogger, pattern writer, and mom to 8 kids. Jennifer believes that creativity is one of our deepest yearnings and that it deserves to be included in everyday life. Her quilts are both an exercise in creativity and a search for hope and light in her daily life. She believes that quilts will matter so long as we have arms to wrap around each other. In addition to quilting, she enjoys reading biographies, writing, spending time with her husband and 8 children, and growing lavender. She blogs about quilts and life at
