About the Class

This beautiful Mid-Century Modern style quilt is a combination of paper piecing stars and diamonds. The emphasis will be on foundation paper piecing and with 20 stars to piece, you will become a pro at paper piecing by the end of this quilt. We will learn to foundation paper piece the stars, as well as set them with the diamonds and sashing. You will also learn how to use some tools that will make it even easier to foundation paper piece.

I am a Mom of three preemies and an Information Technical Professional;
but my passion is quilting! My great-grandmother made a living by making
quilts. She actually had a pulley system in her front room that would lower a
quilt so she could quilt it and then raise it for company. When I was a child,
I remember laying underneath the quilts my grandmother and her sisters
were quilting. I loved listening to them. When I married and we moved into
my Great-Grandmothers house, I got the quilting bug. I like to think her
spirit influenced me! I feel the generations of quilting in my blood, although I
am the only current quilter in my family, and I am proud to carry the legacy. This is my third year teaching at Sew Simply Stitched. I have been
teaching classes for a few years now and am the Kings Peak Quilt Guild
President. I love pre-cuts and all the techniques, rulers, tools and resources
that make quilting so much easier than anything our grandmothers had!
