About the Class
"It might be magic, it might just be math! Come learn how to make multiple units at the same time using only a standard 24"" quilting ruler. Learning the benefits of this shortcut method will save you money not buying specialty rulers, piece-perfect units to build complex blocks and save time and produce gorgeous quilts. Lori will demonstrate a variety of blocks and the pattern used for this class will cover:
Half Square Triangles, learn to make up to 100 in an hour, in multiple color combinations. Learn how to calculate what you need for your quilt.... with measurements for 4 different sizes.
Hourglass - the 4 triangle version of the quarter square triangle, make 44 at the same time. Use from 2 to 4 fabrics and make the left and right units of the 4 fabric version, all from the same sheet.
Come join us to learn why this method works! The directions are explicit and easy to follow and they will certainly reduce time spent making individual pieces.

Instructor
Lori Allred
Hi, I’m Lori Allred. My life, like a patchwork quilt assembled from pieces collected over time, has blended into a beautiful collection of different crafty talents. I have literally been making things my whole life, but when I made my first quilt in 2017, I was hooked and have been addicted ever since. For me, quilting is the perfect combination of creativity and technical challenge, that results in a lasting and useful object. I am group taught, meaning I learned from quilting with groups of friends new and old. If you want to learn to quilt, go hang out with quilters! I love the challenge of learning new techniques and patterns. And I give everything at least one try before deciding I don’t like a method or style of quilting. I’m drawn to bright colors and the precision of foundation paper pieced quilts. I have been teaching for over 20 years in the craft industry. I live in Syracuse, Utah with my husband of 30 years. I’m the mother of two amazing young adults and love that their significant others are like my bonus kids. While I await the arrival of future grandkids I spend time hanging at home with my two furry family members, Sooki & Pista. If I’m not quilting, I’m cooking. As a Pampered Chef consultant I love teaching others about keto cooking. My day job includes marketing and graphic design, but it still gives me time to quilt and money to buy MORE fabric!!
