About the Class
I have loved this quilt from the moment I laid my eyes on the pattern. This may look like a complicated block its far from it. It’s a very simple and straight forward block with no specialty rulers or templates. I have made cutting this quilt out a lot simpler using Fat Quarters. We will be using the sew and flip method and covering how to keep your block square as you sew. I’ve found several steps that will speed up the block process and make it less confusing. I also have several different tips that will make adding the vine a breeze! You should get at least one of flower blocks made in class. Quilt Size 67” x 67”

Instructor
Teresa Porter
Hello, I’m Teresa Porter, I have been in the quilting world for over 25 years. And I have loved every minute of it. It all started in high school when they offered a quilting class. As part of the class, I was able to learn how to put colors together and piece the whole top myself-including doing the longarm quilting. I grew up watching my mom sew costumes and I realized that I didn’t have to sew on the shinny stuff that she was always working on. It opened up a whole new world. I was hooked!
I have spent the majority of my career working at quilt shops. I moved on to a new adventure in 2019 to working with Riley Blake Designs as a Sales Rep for the state of Utah and Southern Idaho. I love what I do and look forward to work every day!
My passion is teaching!! I love it and I love to see a new or experienced quilter learn something new. I’m all about the tips and trick to make something simpler to make. I love to teach the why behind the steps that you learn. Keeping it simple is my kind of quilting! I like to have good time in class and make it fun!
My mom finally retired from sewing the shinny stuff and made her first quilt about two years ago. It’s one of my BEST memories! She was hooked just like me and now she has great plans to make all her grand children a quilt. She’s my new retreat buddy along with my sister. Its so fun to be with them!
I love College Football! Go Cougs!! I love the mountains and am lucky to live in Midway, Utah. I love spending time with my family. Watching my nieces and nephews (along with greats now too) grow up is so much fun. I’m known as the “crazy great” aunt who is the life of the party.
