In this class you will quilt on the Bernina Q16 or Q20 longarm sit-down model machines.

Thread Sculpting / Painting on the Long Arm

Shanna Stordahl

I started quilting in 2013 when my father-in-law gave me a Bernina Aurora 430 sewing machine for Christmas. My first project was purchased from the local quilt store where I asked for an easy project. They sold me a table runner kit. After viewing all the beautiful quilts on display at the store I was curious how the longarm quilting was done. I signed up for a beginner free-motion class and after many hours of quilting practice I tackled the table runner with free-motion designs. Then I began purchasing printed panels to practice my free-motion skills which unleashed my creativity! Because I want the work on my projects to be 100% mine from start to finish I purchased a Bernina Q20 long arm sit-down model machine. My specialty is working with pieced projects, panels, thread painting, trapunto, free-motion, ruler work, embellishments and using texture to make my quilts come alive. For the past 5 years I have been teaching classes in SW Colorado and Utah.
