About the Class

$30 (includes: 17 ½ x 17 ½” primed wooden star, pattern, sand paper and all other small items needed to
create a stunning barn quilt)

Come to this fun class to learn how to create your own Barn Quilt. Each star can look different just by changing the
placement of color. You will be amazed by how fun they are to create and by getting your pattern with your class, you
can make them over and over. We will show you how to get the most out of your patterns and to apply it to many surfaces. These barn quilts are beautiful to display inside and out. You can finish a 17 1/2” star in 3 hours. This class is for
everyone and each star is different than the one before.

Barn Star

Amy Mitchell

I started sewing when I was big enough to reach the pedals on my mother’s Singer sewing
machine. I made clothes for my dolls and blankets for my animals. I made my first quilt in
4-H and entered it in the local fair. I was hooked! I have been sewing and crafting for over
40 years. My first love has been sewing, making clothes to wear to school and then sewing professionally, making custom clothing for over 5 years. I then branched out on my
own making clothing, wedding dresses, blessing dresses, and anything else that seemed
fun and interesting! I love a challenge and learning new things.
I have created and designed for several companies over the years and have had projects
published in different magazines. I have been teaching others how to make their own creations and taking classes to learn fun, new techniques for years. I have been having the
most fun teaching my 12 year old daughter how to sew and craft and she is one of my
favorite students!
My amazing husband, Dwayne and I have been married for 29 years and he is my biggest
support and enabler. We have a 22 year old son and he and his wife live close by, a 16
year old son and my mini-me who is 12. We love to spend time together camping, hiking,
playing games like “Among Us” and “Unstable Unicorns” (I recommend both!). We live in
a beautiful, small community along the Wasatch Front with our two youngest kids and our
rescue dog, Rocky! We started our own family business creating one of a kind Barn Stars
about 2 years ago and have created easy to use patterns so you can make your own at
home too!
