Instructor

Amy Mitchell

I started sewing when I was big enough to reach the pedals on my mother’s Singer sewing machine. I made clothes for my dolls and blankets for my animals... so this class is right up my alley! I made my first quilt in 4-H and entered it in the local fair. I was hooked! I have been sewing and crafting for almost 50 years. My first love has been sewing! I love a challenge and learning new things.

I have been teaching others how to make their own creations and taking classes to learn fun, new techniques for years. I have been having the most fun teaching my 16 year old daughter how to sew and craft and she is one of my favorite students!

My amazing husband, Dwayne and I have been married for 34 years and he is my biggest support and enabler. We have 3 children, two sons 27 (married for almost 6 years now) and 21 and my mini-me who is 17. We love to spend time together camping, hiking, and playing Pickleball. I have been the Event Coordinator for Sew Simply Stitched for 6 years now and am so excited that you are joining us!
