About the Class
Are you tired of sore fingers from hand-binding your quilts, only to have that beautiful binding come undone after a few washes? Or maybe you’ve been afraid to try binding by machine because you’re worried it won’t look professional? Come learn a better way!
In this fun, hands-on class, you’ll learn flange binding—a beautiful, durable machine-binding technique that gives your quilts a polished finish with a little extra flair. The tiny 1/8" flange adds a fun pop of color and detail, while using a walking foot to stitch in the ditch makes attaching the binding easy and gives you a clean, professional-looking finish.
We’ll start with a handy worksheet that takes the guesswork out of buying fabric—you’ll learn exactly how much binding fabric you need for your quilts. Then we’ll roll up our sleeves and make a 9" x 13" potholder so you can practice every step of the process, including attaching the binding, mitering those corners, and neatly joining the ends.
By the end of class, you’ll have a finished potholder.
**Dave's Bernina will be providing machines and any Bernina accessories needed for this class!
