About the Class

What happens if you take the bear paw block, eliminate the sashing, and stretch the block? Lazy Bear, that's what. This quilt is a great stash or scrap buster quilt. No need to shop for this one - use what you have! Choose a single color, or spectrum, and start cutting your scraps! In this class we will cover accurate piecing for flying geese blocks, color placement, and will also cover how to use freezer paper to foundation piece the flying geese (if you wish to) with NO paper removal. Bring extra scraps if you'd like, to swap with other students for greater variety in your quilt and to include some extra Sew Simply Stitched memories in your project. Your instructor will have some scraps from her stash to throw in the mix as well. You can make fewer blocks for a baby quilt, or just one row for a runner.

Lazy Bear Quilt

Instructor

Jennifer Harrison

Twenty plus years ago Jennifer walked into a quilt shop expecting to make one quilt and check it off her bucket list. Instead, she discovered a medium for exploring color, texture, design, and storytelling which quickly eclipsed all other creative interests. She is an avid quilter, blogger, pattern writer, and mom to 8 kids. Jennifer believes that creativity is one of our deepest yearnings and that it deserves to be included in everyday life. Her quilts are both an exercise in creativity and a search for hope and light in her daily life. She believes that quilts will matter so long as we have arms to wrap around each other. In addition to quilting, she enjoys reading biographies, writing, spending time with her husband and 8 children, and growing lavender. She blogs about quilts and life at hopefulhomemaker.com.
Teaching: Fabric Books, Lazy Bear Quilt, and Gleaned Quilt
