About the Class
All you need is your one Beach Towel Tote filled with your sunglasses, sunscreen, a good book, a treat , Splash Proof Phone Pouch, your water bottle and your ready for some sun-filled relaxing moments by the pool or on the beach. Let's make this quick, easy project and be ready for a summer of FUN!!! We will learn to sew on different textures e.g. terry cloth towel, vinyl, installing a zipper, making and attaching a bias tape. Dave’s Bernina will be providing machines and accessories for this class.
Fabric Requirements
Beach Towel Tote:
1 large towel or beach towel
1 hand towel to match (app 16" x 24")
1 travel pillow (Available at WalMart)
1/2 yd fabric for pockets
2 yd 1 1/2" Cotton webbing for straps
1 1/2 yd 3/4"-1" wide Velcro
90/14 Universal needle
Metrosene thread to match
Basic Sewing kit: Small cutting station, small ironing station, rotary cutter, 18" ruler, small scissors, stiletto
Aurifil or Metrosene thread to match towel and fabric
Splash Proof Phone Pouch:
2 pieces Clear Vinyl 5" x 8"
2 Pieces fabric 5" x 8"
1 12" square of fabric to make bias tape
1 Piece of Heat n Bond 5" x 8"
1 Zipper 7" long
Aurifil or Metrosene thread to match fabric
Travel cutting station and Ironing station

I grew up in the southern part of the United States and was taught how to sew by my mother at a young age. Sewing quickly became my hobby, and I found myself making my own clothes and clothes for my children. It wasn't until I retired that I learned how to make a quilt. I love anything that has to do with textiles.
