About the Class
Have you ever wanted to wear your favorite quilt? Or maybe you found one at the store and just wanted to wrap up in it? The possibilities are endless! This darling coat can be made reversible and will just get better with age and washing. We will cover some of the easy shortcuts and tips to make this darling coat.
Purchase the pattern online and print at home or order the pattern kit and I will ship full size pattern sheets to you and give you the printed pattern at the retreat. I will also send a video to everyone to help with the prep prior to class, so as soon as class starts, we will get sewing and can get this ready to wear! Don’t be afraid of the button holes, we can help with that too!

I started sewing when I was big enough to reach the pedals on my mother’s Singer sewing machine. I made clothes for my dolls and blankets for my animals. I made my first quilt in 4-H and entered it in the local fair. I was hooked! I have been sewing and crafting for over 42 years. My first love has been sewing, making clothes to wear to school and then sewing professionally, making custom clothing for over 5 years. I then branched out on my own making clothing, wedding dresses, blessing dresses, and anything else that seemed fun and interesting! I love a challenge and learning new things.
I have created and designed for several companies over the years and have had projects published in different magazines. I have been teaching others how to make their own creations and taking classes to learn fun, new techniques for years. I have been having the most fun teaching my 12 year old daughter how to sew and craft and she is one of my favorite students!
My amazing husband, Dwayne and I have been married for 31 years and he is my biggest support and enabler. We have 3 children, two sons in college, one is 24 (married for almost 3 years now) and the other is 18. Can't forget my mini-me who is 14. We love to spend time together camping, hiking, watching football and they don’t complain much when I drag my projects along to keep me busy. I am the Event Coordinator for Sew Simply Stitched and am so excited that you are joining us!
