Instructor

Cheryl Wallin

Hello! I’m Cheryl Wallin, a quilter, longarm quilter, quilt instructor and fabric collector from Saratoga Springs, Utah.

I was hooked on quilting once I was introduced to it by my in-laws, both of who are avid quilters, 16 years ago. For me, quilting is the perfect combination of creativity and technical challenge, all in the name of creating something useful and beautiful.

In addition to quilting, I am the mother of 5 amazing young adult children, 3 of who are married to amazing spouses and Grammy to 4 fantastic grandchildren….who I love more than quilting. I’m married to the love of my life, who owns and operates his own trucking company, leaving me lots of time to quilt while he’s on the road.

I love fabric! And it will probably take me a lifetime to use up my fabric stash, but that doesn’t stop me from buying just about everything from Art Gallery Fabrics and all types of fabric that fall into the bright color scheme. I love HST and foundation paper piecing. And would you believe that picking out the fabric is my favorite part of the quilting process. For me, I need obtainable finishes, because I have a busy life - day job and grands! I love to teach and meet new people. My quilt friends are the best!!
