About the Class

You’ve made the quilts, bags, and even coats here at Sew Simply Stitched, so why wouldn’t you want to give custom-made shoes a try! Take a step in the right direction and join us to learn how to create shoes out of your favorite fabrics. In fact, the hardest part is figuring out which fabrics you want to make your shoes out of. This class will require some prep prior to the class, but it will be worth it. But don’t worry, you’ll receive directions via a video from the instructor. We will then come together in person to learn how to assemble your shoes. Once you create your first pair you won’t be able to quit making many, many different styles and soon you’ll be strutting your cute creations for all to see!!

Instructor

Lori Allred

Hi, I’m Lori Allred. My life, like a patchwork quilt assembled from pieces collected over time, blended into a beautiful collection of many crafty talents. I have literally been making things my whole life, but when I made my first quilt in 2017, I was hooked and have been addicted ever since. For me, quilting is the perfect combination of creativity and technical challenge, that results in a lasting and valuable object. I am group-taught, meaning I learned from quilting with groups of friends new and old. If you want to learn to quilt, go hang out with quilters! I love the challenge of learning new techniques and patterns. I give everything at least one try before deciding I’m not too fond of a method or style of quilting. I’m drawn to bright colors and the precision of foundation paper pieced quilts. I have been teaching for over 25 years in the craft industry. I live in Layton, Utah, and am the mother of two amazing adult kids. When I’m not quilting I’m on the pickleball quilt….since pickleball is LIFE!! My day job includes marketing and graphic design, but it still gives me time to quilt!
